Before you buy
Is your phone eSIM-ready?
Two checks. If either fails, an eSIM won't work on that phone — no matter how you pay.
iPhone
- eSIM support
- Settings → General → About. An “EID” entry, or “Add eSIM” under Settings → Mobile Service, means eSIM is supported.
- Carrier unlock
- Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock. “No SIM restrictions” means unlocked.
Android
- eSIM support
- Settings → Network & internet → SIMs (names vary). Look for “Add eSIM” or “Download a SIM”. Dialling *#06# and seeing an EID also indicates support.
- Carrier unlock
- There's no universal setting. Ask your carrier, or test with a SIM from another network.
Some models differ by region — the same phone may lack eSIM in one market and be eSIM-only in another. If the settings above don't appear, check with the manufacturer.
